What follows is a brief overview of how Investigations will be conducted. This process has a few steps:
Briefing-- Monokuma will open the investigation by announcing its start and providing his file on the murder, which will include very simple facts about the crime (time of discovery, presence of wounds, areas relevant to the crime, etc) and a description of the crime scene.
Planning-- The investigators will plan their moves: Who will search where, who will watch the body, etc. All participants must declare what they will do during this period, and may choose to do so either publicly (in the relevant investigation thread) or privately (by sending the information to Monokuma directly via message).
Evidence Gathering-- Monokuma will send information relevant to the investigation to each participant. The more individuals who investigate a given area, the more information they will receive. It is up to each person whether or not they share what they find with the others. Some pieces of evidence or testimonies may not be given out until the trial has already started.
Wrap-Up-- Evidence is shared and discussed, areas investigated once again, and finally the Investigation ends.
